Machine & Equipment Dress
Every motor, drive and test stand that leaves an RPGMotor Works plant carries the same visual signature. Housings, end bells and enclosures are finished in Stator Navy (RAL 5011) or Steel Gray (RAL 7031), never in a dealer or customer color unless a contract says so in writing.

Machine and product dress
Two details make a machine recognizably ours. The brand ring is a narrow band of RPG Red (RAL 3020) around the drive-end flange or the front bezel. The nameplate band is a red strip behind the rating plate that carries the Rotor symbol and the product-brand lockup in white. Both are applied at the factory as powder coat or a cast-in insert, and neither is moved, painted over or trimmed in the field.
On drive cabinets, control panels and benches taller than 1.2 m, the Rotor symbol goes on the upper left of the main door, at least 150 mm across and never on a vent grille.
Red is an accent, never a base color. No housing, door or frame is painted RPG Red overall.
RPG ServiceLine contact label
Application guidelines
Version 3.0, issued January 2026
Summary
Introduction
The RPG ServiceLine contact label tells an operator who to call when a motor, drive or cabinet needs help.
It goes on every product we ship, repair or refurbish, and on every customer asset covered by an RPG ServiceLine contract. The label carries the ServiceLine lockup, the service phone number, the service email address, a QR code that opens the asset's service record and the serial number in readable type.
These rules apply to all plants, repair centers, channel partners and contractors.
Printing materials
Labels have to survive oil mist, washdown, heat from the motor surface and years of sunlight on outdoor equipment. Order them only from the approved label list in the RPG Production System, supplied by Kessler Druck, in one of these materials:
- Polyester (PET) face stock, 50 µm, matte white, for general indoor equipment
- Polyimide face stock where the housing runs above 90 °C at the label position
- Brushed aluminum foil, 0.1 mm, for outdoor, marine and WindTurn installations
- Permanent acrylic adhesive rated from -40 °C to 150 °C
- Clear polyester overlaminate with UV inhibitor on every printed label
- Thermal transfer printing with resin ribbon for serial numbers and QR codes, never direct thermal
Sizing
There are three standard sizes. Pick the largest one that fits a flat, clean area of the housing or door without wrapping around an edge, a cooling fin or a fastener.
Never scale the artwork to an in-between size. The QR code stays at least 15 mm square so a phone can read it at arm's length.
Standard sizes, width by height:
- Small: 50 x 25 mm, for MicroX, RoboTorq and other motors under 80 mm frame size
- Medium: 80 x 40 mm, for most servo, BLDC, pump and traction motors
- Large: 120 x 60 mm, for drive cabinets, control panels, test benches and CargoMax units
Placement
Place the label where an operator in the normal working position can read it without opening a guard or removing a cover. Keep it at least 20 mm from the rating plate so the two are never confused.
- Motors: on the non-drive-end side of the housing next to the terminal box, text horizontal as mounted
- Cabinets and panels: on the main door, lower right, between 1.2 m and 1.6 m from the floor
- Test benches and stands: on the operator-side frame near the emergency stop, never on or around it
Compliance
The ServiceLine label never replaces or covers a safety label, a CE or UL mark, a rating plate or any marking a customer contract requires. If space is tight, those markings win and the ServiceLine label moves somewhere else.
Repair centers check every returned unit for a present, readable label before it ships back. Missing or damaged labels are replaced free of charge. Send questions to Ananya Kulkarni, ServiceLine Operations, at service@rpgmotor-works.com.
Where the brand goes on each product and system
ServoPrime and ServoXcel servo motors
Views documented: Drive end, Connector side, Top
ServoXcel wears the same dress as ServoPrime. The descriptor on the nameplate band is the only difference; don't add stripes or performance graphics to tell them apart.
eMotion traction motor housings
Views documented: Side, Inverter end, Mounting face
Traction motors often end up hidden inside a vehicle. Dress them anyway: assembly lines and service technicians see them every day.
Where the vehicle maker asks for a neutral part, ship with the nameplate band only and record the exception on the order.
RoboTorq joint modules
Views documented: Output flange, Cable side
Joint modules are small and usually sit under a robot arm cover. Keep markings to the ring and the etched Rotor; the full lockup lives on the packaging and the datasheet.
Drive cabinets and control panels
Views documented: Front, Door open, Side
Cabinets built into a customer line may use the customer's RAL color by contract. The Rotor and nameplate band still go on at full size, mounted on a Stator Navy plate.
Test benches and end-of-line stands
Views documented: Operator side, Rear, Top
Benches get photographed for customer audits and trade show material, so keep them tidy: no handwritten signs and no tape on branded panels.
Signal Yellow is a safety color here, never decoration.
Safety fence gates on customer lines
Views documented: Gate face, Post
We supply the fence, but the customer owns the floor. Ask the customer's safety lead before adding any brand marking, and never place the Rotor where it could be read as a safety sign.
AeroX flight hardware (restricted marking)
Views documented: Housing, Connector face
AeroX parts follow the customer's marking specification first. Any brand dress needs written approval from the program manager and from Brand.
Never add marking to a part after qualification, even to replace a damaged label.
Pallets and transport frames
Views documented: Long side, Short side, Top
Returnable steel frames are company assets, so stencil them and they come back. One-way wooden pallets get a printed label only, no stencil.
RPG ServiceLine label application
Purpose
The RPG ServiceLine contact label puts our service number, email and a QR code for the asset's service record on every product we ship, repair or refurbish.
It applies to all plants, repair centers, channel partners and contractors.
Materials
Order labels from the approved list in the RPG Production System, supplied by Kessler Druck.
- Matte white PET, 50 µm, for indoor equipment
- Polyimide above 90 °C, brushed aluminum foil outdoors
- Acrylic adhesive rated -40 °C to 150 °C, UV overlaminate on every label
- Resin thermal transfer for serial numbers and QR codes
Sizes
Width by height
- Small 50 x 25 mm: MicroX, RoboTorq, frames under 80 mm
- Medium 80 x 40 mm: most servo, BLDC, pump and traction motors
- Large 120 x 60 mm: cabinets, panels, test benches, CargoMax
Never scale between sizes. Keep the QR code at least 15 mm square.
Placement
Readable from the normal working position, at least 20 mm from the rating plate.
- Motors: non-drive end, beside the terminal box
- Cabinets: main door, lower right, 1.2–1.6 m from the floor
